Slow!

Well this blogging isn't that frequent from me at the moment.  I spend far too long perusing the many blogs I have in my favourites. 
Not much progress to report on the crocheting but a few photos...

...this is Crochet Corner or Hook Haven...haven't decided which one I like best.  Could I come up with any more alliterative name ideas?  This spot is more of a decorative feature as it isn't the most comfortable chair to nestle into and really get on with serious hooking time.  That tends to take place in a corner of the L-shape sofa.  However, it is rather comforting to look at with the baskets of WIP...

...this is the collection of yarn which is now making up the Granny Stripe-all of Lucy's collection in her colour choices but I suspect very different in the combination of colours in the rows.  It started of well and over half term week I achieved most of this....

...I'm mighty proud of it so far.
But then I stumbled across The Flower CAL and my attentions and focus on the Stripe have been somewhat diverted to this...

...the flower motif which has hit the crochet blogsphere by storm it would seem.  This is my very first attempt following a diagram pattern no less- and me an amateur!   It was pretty easy going doing it all in one colour but 3 colours is what I intend to make them in...

...and these two beauties are the very beginnings of possibly a shawl/wrap rather than a blanket.  Blues will again be my main wardrobe colour theme for the summer this year so it will do nicely thank you in a combination of some of these blues and greys!



Phew!

What a crazy, manic day back to school today!  Glad to be home but sadly too tired to even pick up the hook and yarn. 

Sigh!

Oh dear...the end of half term week and just one more day to go till normality resumes again.  It has been quite a pleasant week and I have managed to be better at doing things with my dear boys and getting out and about.  I think they've enjoyed it too.
Have been quietly getting along with the granny stripe blanket and completed the full complement of colours in the first round of stripes and am about a third into round two!  It does look lovely.  Photos to follow...

Inspired!

Well I have started the blog up again.  I have to say that I've been inspired by so many blogs to do this again and they've got me crocheting again.  Credit to Lucy from Attic 24 mainly and from there I've stumbled across links to so many other creative ladies out in blogland.  Lucy got me started on crochet again-something I hadn't really done since I learnt as a young girl from my highly talented mum.  Needless to say, I started a granny square blanket which I started last year and finished this week...a long WIP!  It is for the boys to share as a snuggle blanket.  Although youngest boy claims it as all his and oldest boy wants one all of his own in blues, reds and greens (a granny stripe I think).

So there it is-my very first completed granny square blanket (about cotbed size).  I do have a WIP which I started at the time of my first forays into crocheting (about the age of 12...many moons ago!) and I will come back to that in the future.
Right now I've started another project-a granny stripe (inspiration thanks to Lucy's heavenly creation a while back) and it is going swimmingly.

What a day!!!

Well I became incensed at school very early on in the day...Registration...because of the new crazy system regarding dinners. Then later on I foind my car is chugging and likely to break down so a bug garage job is needed to give it a much needed overhaul! Two internet orders have arrived today but with faults so need to return and get replacements. One ther order did come and that is some scrapbook stash so that cheered me up!

I really want to get to grips with enhancing my blog-the look/design, daily (haphazard!) posts and other entertaining features.

I just need more time in my day!!!!

Yikes-6 months passed already!!!

I had my first day back in school today to take my new class for the morning for "Moving Up" day. I go back to work in 2 weeks time and then officially am off Maternity Leave. No more of that for me - ever! No more "breaks" from teaching ever again unless I change my vocation in life!

So...this blog...I had every intention of being a "regular" and highlighting snippets of my life be it humdrum or exciting. Hasn't happened. All those intentions to photograph stuff to illustrate me.

Ah well. Maybe try to be a bit more together with the blogging thing. My problem - I trawl through too many other people's blogs!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

2008 IS HERE!
Hello - not made any resolutions as yet and may not even do so. We welcome our beautiful new son to the world who came early on 10th December. All is going well and he is sleeping well, feeding well and growing well too.
We had a great Christmas with my big bro and his family-the house juct about coped with so many more in it. Had lovely presents and many to do with scrapbooking-just need to catch up on loads with Elliott being born.
